We rented this house for a week. We liked that it was spacious enough for our entire family. It had seven rooms and most of the basic amenities were provided. It was close enough to the lake and other waterfalls. However, the place could have been much better. It was not well-maintained. The bathroom had stains, rooms had bugs and dead insects, and certain portions of the house seemed like they might fall off.

Amazing historical mansion with all the modern comfort upgrades. This is a grand home, with lots of rooms to explore. Has a bit of a spooky vibe for those that like the idea of thinking about all the people that have lived and loved in this place. The kitchen is ample, and well stocked. The bedrooms are cozy, each with their own bathroom and shower or tub. Very recommended

A perfect place for our 3-day Thanksgiving family reunion and our secret Santa gift exchange. 14 of us were totally comfortable. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. Huge kitchen with 2 stoves. Two dining rooms with huge dining tables - which were also perfect for playing board games and playing cards. A parlor and a living room. Conveniently located to a Tops Supermarket in Montour Falls and more stores in Watkins Glen to the north, or in Horseheads to the south. Tops is where we grocery shopped and had pre-ordered a 20# fresh turkey. The house is very old but well cared for. It was very clean. A waterfall in the backyard was the "frosting on the cake". A very wonderful time was had by all of us.

Great place for a large group. Plenty of rooms and bathrooms. Close to Watkins Glen. Cascade falls right in the backyard. Clean and modern inside. Only concern is the hot water tank is limited when large groups are all showering at the same time.

Great place to stay and central to both Watkins Glen and Ithaca. House is extremely cool in architecture and history. The waterfall a 100 yards com the house only adds to the charm. The host Chris is really great in how he keeps the house and his knowledge of the area. We used this as our base for hiking in the area and would definitely go back again
