The Burdett House Bed and Breakfast is a charming, historic property offering a warm and welcoming stay in the Finger Lakes region. Guests consistently praise the cleanliness, delicious breakfasts, and knowledgeable, friendly hosts who provide excellent local recommendations. Its convenient location near Watkins Glen and numerous wineries makes it an ideal base for exploring the area.
Burdett house was beautifully decorated and incredibly clean. The bed, part 1 of the 2 most important B&B parts, was comfortable and private bathroom was large and updated. Breakfast was amazing. Our Hosts were friendly and accessible. The location of Burdett was great after hiking Watkin's Glen and then heading to Ithaca the extra day.
We had an amazing time visiting the Finger Lakes, mostly due to our fabulous stay at the Burdett House. Ashley and David were so warm and welcoming. They have a way of making us feel like both a very special guest and a member of the family at the same time. There is so much to do in the Finger Lakes that it can be overwhelming. Ashley gave us a lot of wonderful suggestions of what to see and do during our visit and every one of them was fantastic. The house is so charming and exactly what one pictures when they think of a quaint bed & breakfast in this region. It’s got so much character and when you’re inside the house, you feel as if it is giving you a warm hug. In fact, they should rename it the Burdett HOME. The breakfasts that Ashley and David cook are incredible. Each morning they offer a different pre-breakfast appetizer and they were so delicious that I had to order smaller breakfast portions because I just couldn’t finish everything. They offer several options for breakfast but be sure not to miss the delicious pancakes! I just wish I had spent more time with Hudson, their very sweet and adorable dog. There are so many places to stay in this region, but we’d come back to the Burdett House in a heartbeat because we know that we will have another fabulous experience. Thank you, Ashley and David, for making our stay so wonderful!
My husband and I spent two delightful nights at Burdett House on our way home from a vacation in Canada. We had planned the short detour to break up our trip and explore some finger lakes wineries. The town of Burdett is a perfect location, only 10 minutes from the larger town of Watkins Glen and a short drive to many of the region’s best wineries. The inn is homey, comfortable, charming and quaint. Ashley and Dave have done a great job of honoring the historical nature of the structure while incorporating all of the modern conveniences one would want. There’s an interesting artifact in every corner! Breakfasts were delicious and prepared to order. The highlight of the communal meal was chatting with our hosts, who generously shared their tips for touring the area and made every guest feel special and welcome. After our visit, we knew we would be back, this time to make the finger lakes a destination of its own. Highly recommend!
We headed east to visit our daughter at Ithaca College, but wanted to experience the Finger Lakes too. The Burdett House is beautifully restored inside and out. I could have stayed on the wraparound porch for hours. We stayed in the Roosevelt room which was both spacious and cozy, with an adjoining bathroom. Breakfast both days was delicious with extra touches! The hosts were friendly and offered assistance several times throughout our stay. They know the area well and advised all the guests on can’t miss places (wineries, breweries, hiking, brunch, coffee shop, music…) and the last recommendation for brunch before we headed out was fabulous: Here open Sat and Sun. The Burdett House B & B is a gem, located 3 miles from Watkins Glen on the east side of Seneca Lake, 30 min from Ithaca.
Upon arrival, the exterior is a beautifully restored historic home showing a great attention to detail and decor. The interior was gorgeous and the original woodwork is well preserved from the 1800’s. The room was so quaint. We had the Roosevelt room and the bathroom was designed to look old fashioned but was refinished to look historic. Also the paint colors and furniture were well chosen to represent the era. Ashley is an amazingly friendly host. She prepared us a fire in the fire pit for when we returned from dinner on both nights we were there. She was attentive and available for anything we needed. We felt safe and very much at home. Also, the town of Burdett is small, but wonderful. There’s a great breakfast spot within walking distance and a new coffee shop that has a waterfall behind it. Only 10 mins drive from Watkins Glen, nestled right in wine country and 5 mins from Hector Falls. I would highly recommend staying at the Burdett house and we look forward to returning!!
My wife and I had a great 2 nights at the Burdett House while visiting the Watkins Glen area. It’s evident that Ashley and Dave take great pride in their place by their cleanliness and attention to detail. We had very clean and comfortable accommodations with great breakfasts. The location is very convenient to many of the wineries and the Watkins Glen area. Thank you for your hospitality, we will definitely recommend your place and will be returning again in the future.
