The Watkins Glen Villager Motel & Glen Manor is located in the heart of Watkins Glen, offering convenient access to the downtown area and Watkins Glen State Park. While some guests appreciate the friendly service and clean rooms, others have reported issues with cleanliness, outdated facilities, and insensitive customer service during difficult times.
My wife and I, from the North end of the lake, had a date night. We took a day enjoying the East side venues and stayed here for the night. It's right in the middle of the village. The desk clerk went out of her way to walk me to our room. The motel is somewhat dated, but the beds were firm and soft and the pillows were plentiful. Our room was clean and fresh, and the bathroom was proper. We did not have the time to enjoy the indoor pool, but that's another benefit.
Great location wonderful service. Grose room dirty qtip on the floor was the 1st thing I saw co webs off the pictures all over the ceiling random hairs in the restroom ect.... TV kept loosing signal unable to watch.
We have stayed at Villager every year for Vintage Race and always the same room. Great experience, until this year when my husband's brother is on hospice and going to pass at any moment. We called to have to cancel. They were so insensitive to our sadness and referred to their policy that we should have canceled at least 30 days in advance. Well, sorry we didn't know his brother was going to die. Such disrespect toward us. Charged for all 3 nights with not even, I'm sorry and no offer of maybe giving us one night towards next year. I understand policy but a little human kindness would have been the right thing to do. If we can find another place for next year, we will never stay there again. Very disappointed and such disrespect toward a family who is heartbroken. Shame on you ?
I wanted to do a review on this place, because it was great. Normally, I would not go to a Motel, however, my goal on this trip was to get up very early and visit the Watkins Glen State Park, specifically the Gorge Trail, without hassle. This place fits the bill to a T; I was able to do exactly what I wanted to do. The reception was very friendly, took no time at all. She properly explained how the key works since the doors had special automatic locks. The rooms were clean, the AC worked like a charm, and the Park was in walking distance. I got up at the crack of dawn, went to the park, spent two hours there, then came back in time to get a complimentary breakfast. Checkout was just as easy.
We arrived late at night and asked for a room. The lady at the reception wasn't even able to say 'Hello'. She wanted to give us a room for 215, - Dollars for one night. We were not even allowed to take a look at the room before. After we said that it would be too expensive for us she said we will not find anything cheaper around here. Well, we stayed at a beautiful Airbnb for 84 Dollars that night.
My husband and I came by this quaint little hotel in the heart of downtown Watkins glen when we were searching for a place to stay for the NASCAR series. The room was very clean, the service was beyond friendly and welcoming, and the location was everything we needed for the perfect “first weekend away without kids”- we parked the car and were able to walk to virtually everything! We would 10/10 come back to stay here for another weekend away- with or without the kids. Thank you WGVM for a hosting us a fun, peaceful weekend! We did not take advantage of the indoor pool this weekend, but it looked so nice!!
