The Rocks is a highly praised, character-filled 1902 cottage on the water renowned for its private beach access, stunning lake views, and charming rustic decor. While the location is often described as unbeatable, guests should be aware of specific logistical details, such as the one-lane driveway and the lack of hot water during off-season stays.

We had a wonderful stay at The Rocks. The hosts were careful to let us know that the cottage is historic and not modern. We found everything we needed in the house and we were very comfortable there. The location cannot be beat! Just one standard flight of stairs takes you to the private rocky beach with 3 piers, and plenty of seats. Coffee on the front porch swing in the mornings and a glass of wine as the sun set in the evenings was just what we wanted. We swam, fished, and had an evening fire on the beach. We are happy to recommend The Rocks!

Had a wonderful time in a very quite and peaceful setting. I’d recommend it highly to anyone needing to get away from the rat race. Have stayed at a number of cottages on Seneca Lake through the years….. we now have a new favorite!!!

We were so very happy to walk into the beautiful cabin at The Rocks! It was so comfortable with stunning views of the lake. Every detail was taken care of including the darling bedrooms - all beautifully themed and with personal touches. The kitchen had everything we needed - and we loved the cabinets - glass doors so it was easy to find all the right dishes, mugs, ice cream bowls, wine glasses, etc.. We very much enjoyed the big teal table with so much room for meals it was easy to just gather. The lake view porch was just what we dreamed of - coffee in the morning and wine at night, with reading, talking, napping and waving to the passing boats in between. We rented kayaks and a canoe, jumped off the end of the main dock and overall thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful water of Seneca lake. Pro-tip: if you really want a laid back beer and burger - go to The Lucky Hare just up the road. Thank you so much to our host Kathryn - we loved our time and are grateful to you.

This property is special. The house has a ton of character, and the lake was absolutely beautiful—exactly what we were hoping for in a relaxing getaway. Kathryn was so welcoming and accommodating, making sure we enjoyed our stay. We truly appreciated the hospitality and hope to return!

The cottage was quaint and as described. We were thankful for the beach/swim area during our few very hot days. We appreciated WiFi and satellite tv during our rainy day. We had plenty of room with just 4 people in our party. It was a relaxing time and we had everything we needed.

This home is very cozy and right on the lake. It feels private. Big enough for 9 people to stay. Kathryn and the maintenance person Walter were both very responsive.

This 1902 cottage is quaint, full of antiques and peaceful. We loved the stories that the interior of the cottage told. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook and spend a week, the beds were comfortable and having wireless and TV was a bonus in such a vintage home. The GPS for the turn onto the road to the cottage is wrong for everyone who tried it so a heads up would be nice - I'm sure the neighbors are tired of all the turnarounds. The front porch is wonderful and the view and privacy are great. The outdoor gas grill with propane was terrific - should be added to the amenities list. The nightly fee to stay was a bit steep - especially after Labor Day weekend, and with having to buy water, but we understand that all the cottages along that lakeshore must not use the water to drink. All in all, a very special place, Kathryn is friendly and responsive (thank you for the wine!) and we are grateful that we were able to spend a week there.

The Rocks is great home for any type of getaway, whether you like sit on the porch all day w/ a beautiful lake view or to enjoy boating & hiking. This cottage makes you feel right at home with all of its charm. Our family of 9 adults & 1 toddler (plus 2 dogs) were in town for a jet ski race at Watkins Glen Beach. We were able to keep our own boat & skis at the house with unlimited access to the lake all weekend long. Wake boarding, tubing, boat rides, we did it all. The beach is THE BEST part with a large amount of seating. It is where we spent a majority of our time together. Plenty of parking for 3 large trucks, 1 midsize SUV & a boat trailer(at the top of the driveway). Home owner Kathryn & property manager Walter were willing to help & answer any questions we had. The kitchen is small & quaint but provided everything we needed for cooking. The living room/dining area gave our group ample amount of space to be together for meal time. Bedrooms were clean & spacious. 10/10 vacation

We had a fantastic stay at The Rocks. This place is a GEM! It felt like coming home to a family cottage you’ve been going to forever. What a joy it was to stay here for the weekend! It had everything we needed for three families with young kids. Lots of beds, a cozy living room with a big dining table, a porch with a stunning view of the lake and a great dock for swimming. The location is perfect. Cute towns to explore, lots of hiking options, and many breweries, wineries, and restaurants nearby. Kathryn was a wonderful host. She explained the layout clearly to make sure it was suited for our group and was responsive to all our questions. She even accommodated an early check-in and late check-out. A dream for those with young kids! Thanks for a lovely stay!

A lovely lake house to spend a few days in. As described (ie rustic / lived in not modern). We felt very comfortable and enjoyed time sitting out on the porch and jumping into the lake!
