The pictures do not show how charming and cozy the rooms are. My husband and I stayed a couple of nights in the Chief's Quarters with our small dog while we had family staying in the large house. The views are beautiful. The rooms are clean and nice. Our "hut" was small but workable and we really did not mind especially since we were barely in it. The AC unit quickly cooled the place down when needed. The deck at the hut was very nice to have to sit and watch the lake with coffee in the morning. It is a quiet area, even with the road in front of the property. There is a firepit and grassy area for the dogs to run around. Across the street (down many steps) is access to the lake and multiple docks which was very nice. The owners are friendly and laid back, from our experience. Our family stays here every year and love it and we can see why- we will be back!

We stayed here for the first time in August of 2024 and I must confess I was a bit concerned not knowing what we were getting into. After all, no offense, but Admiral Peabody's Lakeside Lodging sounds like a small motel from a Bullwinkle Cartoon from the 60's. But as the wise man says, DON'T JUDGE a book by it's cover. We were very satisfied with our stay. First and foremost, everything was neat and clean! The bathroom, the kitchen, the refrigerator. All spotless! And although the cabins are obviously 40 plus years old, everything was well maintained and in excellent condition! The beds and pillows, although not luxurious, were comfortable and after a long day hiking around Watkins Glenn and Treman State Park, you'll get a decent night sleep. We loved the porch and watching the sun (and moon) rise over the lake. We didn't even have time to check out the dock and go for a swim. Of course the big question to ask is, "Would we go back?" and the answer is an affirming yes. In fact we look forward to it.... and you should too!

I loved staying in the Ensign's Quarters! The cabin was small (the bed was particularly small - seemed smaller than my full sized bed at home), but it was enough space for me and my girlfriend. We enjoyed the deck, which had a view of the lake and a grill, and being able to walk down to the dock to swim and relax. We also enjoyed the fire pit, which is shared with other guests. The owners were also very welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.

The location and view were fantastic. The dock with a swing and Bluetooth speakers was wonderful. We stayed in the bungalow and it was clean and comfortable for just the two of us. It had all the necessities and you can't beat it for the price. The fire pit was great at night. Luke and Jane were wonderful hosts and very accommodating. Will definitely be staying again in the future. Would highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this cottage. The moment we arrived I fell in love with it. They had everything you would need for a stay. We were there for 3 nights and they had fresh coffee, cream and sugar for you! All the appliances, pots, and cups! Not only was the cottage and deck amazing, but they have their own private dock with motion activated lights. The best part of staying there was being able to walk down to the lake and sit on the swing to watch the sunrise. They have a ladder so you are able to swim off the dock, and even supply life jackets. The owner Luke was awesome! He made sure we had everything we needed, gave us directions to the cabin. With us having such a far drive it make it more accommodating with a late check in. Definitely would love to come back again!
