There were bugs in our room and why I complained they said “we never had a complaint about bugs before”. The door didn’t shut all the way and there was a gap, which is how the bugs came in. Very low frills, for $350 a night one of the fire pits didn’t work and the morning staff was very rude. I asked for Chamomile tea and was told “sorry we don’t fancy tea hear”, really. Camomile “fancy tea”. The area was beautiful but if we go back we certainly won’t stay at the Laurel Inn. Out of three fire pits only one was working properly and they knew that one was not working and did nothing to fix it. It’s Labor Day weekend, people, make sure your hotel is in top notch condition. The bathroom upon check-in was filthy.

Positives - great location, beautiful views, comfortable beds! Negatives - found several bugs in our room. Bathroom needs attention. Shower floor was dingy and stained. Shower curtain was mildewy and kept hitting your body while showering. And this is silly but the toilet paper holder was ridiculous. Every spin knocked it off the holder. No ventilation in the bathroom either. Oh and no breakfast is served on Sundays. That’s literally THE day most people would want to have breakfast! Overall, decent place but there are many better options.

Location & views are awesome. The hotel though, it very dated. The entrance doors to our room were super hard to open & close. Hard to lock as well. Our rooms only had 1 remote for 2 TVs. (Make that make sense) If you're on the lowest level, good luck watching TV anyway, because the wifi is in & out and your TV will buffer all the time, not worth watching. Hopefully your phone has lots of data because you'll need it!

Truly a hidden gem at Watkins Glen. Has the feel of a classic motor lodge with a modern edge. The staff were wonderful. The rooms are very good: updated with many amenities and well decorated. The beds were a little hard and no fans in the bathrooms either. Otherwise the rooms were grand. The individual outdoor decks with unbelievable views made up for any shortcomings. The hotel bar and restaurant served surprisingly good food! Did I mention the staff was great?

We loved it here! I do not recommend the restaurant due to there being only one server. She was coughing the whole time, and had about 10 tables to wait by herself at 8am when they opened. Waited forever just for coffee and a water. She was doing 3 jobs in one, it just wasn’t it. She was kind, and did great otherwise, just felt bad. The rooms were lovely. Recommend requesting balcony room. Clean facility, and clean room. Definitely recommend this place as it is 5 min from the glen, and 5 min from downtown. HOWEVER, check Lyft and uber FIRST prior to reaching out to Pico’s driving service. It was $52 to go downtown and back……and bars aren’t great around downtown, so don’t expect anything great, and/or open late. The experience was perfect for what we were looking for. A nice, quiet, peaceful getaway! :)

Great retro accommodations. Fantastic view of Seneca Lake. Check-in and check-out was fast and completed via text message. Bathroom was well appointed, bed (King) was comfortable. Very convenient to downtown Watkins Glen by car. Really neat place! We look forward to our next stay.

If nothing else, this place gets 4 stars for the stunning view and location. I would stay here again just for that. Above that, the rooms were clean and the area was quiet and felt safe. I liked the Halloween decorations. The restaurant was decent but there are a lot of food options not far up the road if you want something else. The only issue I encountered is you only get one parking space per unit and there is only one parking space per unit so if someone parks in your space, you don't have a place to park. You have to park at the lobby and walk all the way down to your unit. It doesn't sound too bad unless it is dark, raining, cold, and you are exhausted from hiking. This happened to us both nights and we heard our neighbors honking and yelling at someone else too. The hotel needs to give you a card or something to put in your car window to identify which cars go with which unit. Other than that issue, we enjoyed our stay very much!

This completely refurbished motel offers a step back in time with its mid-century decor, but with updated amenities. The rooms open to spacious balconies overlooking the shores of Seneca Lake with the most beautiful and serene panoramic views; and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. We had a great weekend there!

Absolutely great view from our room. Friendly staff. Room clean and has been updated. Comfy bed. Minutes to Watkins Glen. Definitely recommend this hotel. Restaurant convenient and reasonable prices.

Great spot. Excellent lake view from our room's balcony, and a restaurant onsite. Recently renovated and staff was great. Am saving it for my next trip here.
